Mother of 5 murdered; $3,000 reward offered for info on person of interest
BRANDON (FOX 13) - Hillsborough County deputies are looking for a person of interest after a mother of five was murdered over the weekend.
Authorities say someone shot 35-year-old Tiffany James in the upper body while she was walking to her Brandon apartment on Chapel Tree Circle Saturday night around 11 p.m.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue transported James to Tampa General Hospital, where she later died.
Homicide detectives Sunday said they were searching for 49-year-old Darryl Eugene Williams for questioning in relation to the shooting.
Williams is described as a 5'6" black male with short grayish hair. His last know address is 2002 Thornbush Place in Brandon. He is believed to be driving a Gold 1995 Toyota Camry LE with a Florida tag of DWI-W66. Detectives do not believe the shooting was random.
Anyone with any information that could lead detectives to Williams is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in this case.
The investigation remains underway.
