TAMPA (FOX 13) - Neighbors are helping neighbors in this time of need following Hurricane Irma.
Local church members gathered today and hit the streets to provide much-needed relief and recovery.
They practice what they preach at Grace Family Church in Hillsborough County.
A congregation comes together with one goal.
"We just want to be out helping people make sure that they can get their lives back in order," says Pastor Mike Moore.
They started their day in the church gym. More than 150 people organized in teams, according to their individual skills and their desire to help.
"We are at a home right now where our teams are working on another property just around the block." Pastor MIke said. "We saw this one and said let's go see if they need a helping hand."
They brought supplies, food, and water, and then they fanned out into the community.
We followed one team to Ev Ullman's house.
"They're angels," Ev said.
She had a tree fall in her front yard and couldn't afford to pay to have someone remove it.
"Monies are tight," Ev said. "This is amazing what they are doing. God bless them."
Faith, charity, and love; words they preach and live by.
"Kind of refreshing actually to know we can all come together as one community and work together," Pastor Mike said.
