OneBlood in 'urgent need' of donations

TAMPA (FOX 13) - OneBlood said it was in "urgent need" for blood donations Thursday and planned several donation drives around the Bay Area.

OneBlood officials said its blood supply reached extremely low levels due to high usage in area hospitals, and urged donors to head to a local blood center or donation drive location as soon as possible.

Especially needed were O Negative and O Positive blood types, as well as platelet donations.

Blood donors who donate at any OneBlood Donor Center will receive a "We Are Free to Donate" T-shirt, plus a $10 eGift Card.
