Palm trees catch fire at CA country club

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (FOX 13) - Firefighters were called to put out flames burning atop a couple of palm trees this week.

Bystanders took video of the burning palms, which were roughly 40 feet tall.

According to reporting by the Desert Sun, the fires broke out on a golf course at Mesquite Country Club Thursday.

Firefighters were finally able to get the flames under control.

They had not yet determined what caused the fires atop the tall trees.

There were no reports of injuries or any buildings being threatened.
