Pandas released into the wild
YA'AN CITY, China - China released two female pandas into the wild on Friday,
Three-year-old Hua Yan and two-year-old Zhang Meng were released into the Lizping National Nature Reserve.
Both pandas are wearing neck straps with GPS so that researchers can monitor them.
The neck straps will eventually fall off.
Pandas had seen their numbers in China decline as humans encroached on their habitat, but a study in 2014 found that the number of pandas i the wild is once again in the rise.
