Passenger in Tropical Breeze casino boat fire files lawsuit

HOLIDAY (FOX 13) - A Holiday woman is suing a Port Richey casino boat company after one their boats went up in flames with her on board.
A Tropical Breeze Casino Cruz shuttle boat caught fire shortly after take off on January 14th, and 50 passengers and crew members were forced to abandon the vessel, by jumping into the chilly waters in the Gulf. The boat was completely destroyed, and one woman died hours later.
Deborah Jero is suing the company for negligence, and is seeking at least $15,000 in damages.
FOX 13 obtained a copy of the lawsuit. It states Jero says Tropical Breeze should have known about any hazards on the shuttle boat, and had a duty to warn their paying passengers.
The suit was filed on January 19th, one day after casino rides resumed at Tropical Breeze Casinos.
