Police: Man flashed girl in Winter Haven Library
WINTER HAVEN (FOX 13) - Surveillance video shows a man lurking around the children's room of the Winter Haven library before pulling his pants down in front of a 7-year-old girl, police say. Now they are asking for help identifying him.
It was just after 4 p.m. Tuesday when the girl and her mother were sitting at a table in the children's section of the library. When the mom walked away for a second, the girl said she heard whispering. When she turned to look, the man pulled down his pants and exposed himself to her.
The girl ran off and the suspect left the library.
Surveillance footage later showed that the man had been in the library for "quite some time," according to police. In fact, he appeared to be watching the children's area for a half-hour from an adjoining room.
A $3,000 reward is available for information leading to an arrest. Police say you should contact Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS or Detective Rod Esteve at 863-401-2256.
