Police search for man who robbed two hotels
TAMPA (FOX 13) - It was a scary moment Friday when an armed suspect held up the Holiday Inn Express on Busch Boulevard in Tampa.
"Anytime someone points a gun, it's alarming to that victim. It's alarming to the police department," said Tampa police spokesperson Andrea Davis.
Investigators believe this was the second crime committed by the robber.
Police said hours earlier, the man did the same thing at the La Quinta Inn down the street.
Unfortunately for him, he didn't get any cash the first time around.
"Often times when they have a unsuccessful robbery, they'll try again. That's exactly what happened," Davis said.
Both cases took real audacity. The La Quinta is about 100 yards from a Tampa Police substation.
Police are hoping someone out there knows the suspect.
"We think someone will recognize that clothing, especially the orange shoes and hat with an orange brim," Davis said. "At some point, if he continues on with this pattern, typically robbers will get more and more violent."
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact Tampa police.
