Running with the Rays 5K benefiting hurricane relief efforts in the Tampa Bay area
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - The Running with the Rays 5K took place on Sunday morning with all the proceeds going towards hurricane relief efforts in the Tampa Bay area.
Participants headed through the streets of downtown St. Petersburg, starting and ending near Tropicana Field.

Executive Director of the Rays Baseball Foundation, David Egles, says that it's so important to the community to all come together for a cause so central to our hearts.
"It's so important to come together like this. Our community is fantastic. What a resilient bunch. Despite the cold weather, we had hundreds and hundreds of participants out here today coming together to raise money for hurricane relief," Egles said.

After the race, people enjoyed an awards ceremony, music and giveaways.
