Southwest Airlines is grounding peanuts.

The salty snack has been a tradition on Southwest for decades.

But starting August 1, peanuts are no longer part of the airline's service. Southwest says it's concerned about peanut allergies.

Tuesday was the last day the company offered them to passengers.

Shares of Dallas, Texas based Southwest Airlines are down eleven percent this year.
