Tampa offers money to fix up owner-occupied homes

If you live in the city of Tampa and your home needs some serious TLC, the city wants to offer you a loan to get it fixed.

It's called the Owner Occupied Rehab Program and applications are open thru the end of this month for the first 1,000 people.

If you stay put for a certain number of years, the loan is forgiven.  For example, for a $15,000 loan, it's five years -- going up to a $40,000 loan if you live there for 15 years after the renovations.
