Two young teenagers are suspected in a brazen car theft Friday night in Tampa.

The owner of a black Chevy Impala left his car running as he went into a Sunoco gas station on North 56th Street.

That's when two teens decided they wanted his car.

Surveillance video shows the owner trying to get the car back, but one of the teens reportedly flashed a gun at him.

“It happened like very fast. Too fast actually,” said witness Twin Watts.

Detectives would eventually catch up with the two suspects. They arrested 16-year-old Shawn Lowman and 15-year-old Javeon Morice.

“I can't think of a better example of why you don’t want to park your car and leave it unattended while running,” said Hillsborough Sheriff's Office spokesperson Larry McKinnon.

Deputies say you should learn from this guy's blunder.

“Just five seconds of getting out of your car, locking the door, and taking the keys. may save you hours, weeks, or months, of trying to get all that property back,” McKinnon said.
