A woman involved in a standoff with Tampa police is now in custody and facing several charges.

Police say they received a call about a woman with a gun at a doctor's office on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.  They were told she got angry and fired a shot in the office ceiling.

Officers followed Kathleen Martin.  They say at one point she clipped another car.  Then, after attempts to stop her, they were able to surround her car on Armenia Avenue.

"We were able to get with her on the cell phone, talk with her on the cell phone and she was armed so we decided to be patient," spokesman Steve Hegarty explained.

Martin finally got out of her car voluntarily and was taken away in an ambulance.  She is now facing several charges, including fleeing and alluding and hit and run.

No one was hurt.
