Woman makes dress out of 10,000 Starburst candy wrappers
Elizabethtown, Penn. (FOX 13) - A Pennsylvania woman spent four years making a dress completely out of Starburst wrappers. Now, she's showing off the finished product.
Emily Seilhamer is an artist based in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, shared photos of herself wearing the dress on Facebook, and it blew people's minds.
The dress is made of approximately 10,000 Starburst candy wrappers. She says it took her four years to collect all of the wrappers, with the help of friends and family.
Once all the wrappers were collected, she organized them into colors, ironed them, folded them into links, and made candy wrapper chains. With the use of elastic thread, she then sewed the links together into a “fabric” to create the dress.
It was a long and tedious process.
But why do a project like this? Seilhamer wrote in an article that she was inspired by her husband to embark upon the project: the couple first met when he offered her a Starburst candy several years before she started on the dress. And, it's his favorite candy. How sweet!
