Hurricane Barbara forms in Pacific

FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills is watching Hurricane Barbara in the Pacific. It has maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour and is expected to go out to sea. Tropical Storm Cosme has formed in the Pacific on the heels of Barbara. Mills expects Cosme to weaken and stay over open water. Mills added that she does not expect anything to form in the Gulf, Atlantic or Caribbean over the next seven days.

Saharan dust works its way over Florida

FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is keeping an eye on a plume of Saharan dust that?s working its way over the state of Florida this weekend. He says the dust will keep things dry and hot. However, he notes that it will impact the air quality over the Bay Area. The dust should leave the Bay Area by Tuesday.

Non-tropical system may form off Florida's coast

FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is watching one area off east coast of Florida that has a 10 % chance of development over the next few days. It will make its way north and as it gets off the coast of the Carolinas, it may turn into a non-tropical system that may acquire subtropical characteristics. He says it is too early to tell if it will stay offshore, come onshore or hug the coastline. Weber is also watching a plume of Saharan dust is also making its way across the Atlantic toward the United States.
