Tropical depression could form by the weekend
FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is watching several areas in the tropics with two weeks left in the hurricane season. He says an area of low pressure in the Caribbean has been designated as Invest 98. He says it is possible that it will develop into a tropical system. Weber is also watching a non-tropical low off the coast of Florida that is expected to ride up the coastline of the United States. He expects it to produce rain and gusty winds, but says it is not likely to become tropical.
