The National Hurricane Center is almost out of names now that two more tropical storms have formed as the record-breaking 2020 hurricane season continues. Meanwhile, the Gulf Coast continues to watch Hurricane Sally slog towards landfall.

What happens if we run out of hurricane names?

As expected, 2020 has been a very busy hurricane season in the Atlantic. Fifteen names have already been used, and Vicky’s formation this morning leaves only one more name on the 21-name list for the year: Wilfred.
