2017 National Summit to End Hunger begins

Hundreds of volunteers are trying to pack more than enough meals to distribute to Tampa Bay organizations.

The 2017 National Sunshine Summit to End Hunger began on Monday at Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa. The Network to End Hunger is mobilizing volunteers with United Way Suncoast, Metropolitan Ministries, Home Depot, Publix, and others, to pack 250,000 meals.

Organizations that will receive the meals are: Metropolitan Ministries, United Food Bank of Plant City, St. Pete Free Clinic, RCS Food Bank, Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center, and Volunteer Way.
