Charley at Tampa Bay Skating Academy's Goals for a Cause
OLDSMAR (FOX 13) - Charley headed to Tampa Bay Skating Academy Monday morning to talk to Mayor Doug Bevis about the annual Goals for a Cause senior hockey tournament.
This year, proceeds for the three-day-long senior hockey tournament go to the Holiday Sharing Fund, which helps give underprivileged children a happy Christmas.
Goals for a Cause started as a result of a conversation between Neil Armstrong, Frank Daly, Norm Dann and Rich Stack wanting to raise money to benefit the Kocab/Curtis Memorial Fund in honor of slain Tampa police officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis. Since then, it has become an annual event benefiting a variety of local charities.
If you are looking for something to do with the family Thanksgiving weekend, the games are free to watch. A silent auction will also be held.
