Empower Adventures helps people out of their comfort zones

OLDSMAR (FOX 13) - A zip line course, right in the heart to Oldsmar, can get your adrenaline pumping.

Empower Adventures takes you up to 65 feet above the ground and spans over 20 acres in the Upper Tampa Bay area. There are five zip lines, ranging from 400 to 650 feet in length, as well as a 200-foot suspension bridge. It can take around two hours to complete the full course. 

It's also a place where people can face their fears, says President Joe DeRing. 

“From the time they arrive we start to really get them into discovering what it means to be outside your comfort zone, and once we get them on the first zip line, then the second and third, they start to build confidence,” he explained to FOX 13. “By the time they leave here the ywant to do more. They want to find the next challenge. “

There are also team-building opportunities for businesses, DeRing said. 

“The boss may be scared of heights. So you get the team out here and everybody does it together. You build confidence together,” he said. “We like to have people have fun.”
