Hay, what? Family's feed store grows up

PLANT CITY (FOX 13) - It started as the Hay Exchange back in 1995. Now, with a 40,000-square-foot expansion, it's become G Five Feed & Outdoor. The Plant City shop now offers everything from fishing rods to ATVs.

"G5" is how the Glisson family began branding their cattle decades ago.

"Back then, it was the law," store manager Bill Glisson explained.  "You had to brand your cattle."

Now, Glisson says, the new store will offer much more than hay but it will remain a family affair.

"We've just listened to our customers' needs over all these years and it's just kind of evolved," he continued.  "Add to that, my family has a deep passion for the outdoors. We love fishing, we love hunting, we love barbecuing, we love motorsports.  And obviously we love our animals."

G Five is on U.S. Highway 92 in Plant City.
