Local team competing in 'Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge'

About a year ago, we introduced you to Jonathan Ruiz who was competing in American Ninja Warrior.

Since we've talked to him last, he has now found others with either exceptional size, stamina and strength or all three and have formed team "Strike a Pose" -- a team that will compete on "Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge."

"We got together and we did our job amazingly and I'm so blessed to be a part of that," said Mack Roesch, one of the team members.

"Mack asked me if I wanted to compete for 250k and I said hell yea!" said Amanda Tchir, another competitor.

Like ancient Greece, these warriors go and battle it out in obstacles and have to work together -- physically and mentally against other teams.

"Everyone has many skills that they're bringing to the table," Tchir said. "Mentally we're all strong, we can block it out and stay focused. We're like one unit even though we were five-team members."

The winning teams gets to split a $250,000 cash prize and bragging rights.

Beyond that, it's about motivating and inspiring others.

"Nothing feels better than someone saying that something you did inspires something that they do,"  said Sarah Harrison, a team member. "I think its really important especially if you're a woman that you can do anything,  That you don't have to be defined by one aspect of your life."

Team "Strike a Pose" reached the semi finals and by the end of July, we will know if they advance.
