ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Five men were arrested in St. Petersburg overnight in relation to celebratory gunfire.
Police said they responded to a call at 3rd Ave. South around 12:30 a.m. where officers heard shots being fired in the area. Officers spotted four men, two of them with rifles, who fled when they saw police.
All four of them were arrested and three guns were confiscated. One of the guns was stolen, police said.
The men were identified as Jararski Ra'sharde Sandy, 28, Samuel Madison Lavine, 19, Aaron Jordon Woody, 26, and Elijah Dreshaud Johnson, 20.
They face numerous charges including obstruction, improper exhibition of a firearm, and grand theft of a firearm.
Around 2 a.m., officers were called to a home on 29th St. S. where they found a male suspect sitting in a parked red Monte Carlo with an AK-47 style rifle in the car. Police arrested him and charged him with obstruction and felon in possession of a firearm.
He was identified as Aaron Rodriguez Hinson, 32.
Police said celebratory gunfire led to the injury of a 17-year-old girl at a party in St. Petersburg and damage to a police cruiser. It's unknown if these incidents are related, but police are investigating.
