After stay in the hospital, teen starts charity to uplift patients

TAMPA (FOX 13) - A stay in the hospital inspired a teen to boost the spirits of others. Caitlin Shannon brightening the lives of hospitalize children with items she collects for her charity, Sparkle Power.

She takes those items with her when she goes to hospitals to cheer up young patients.

"After I found myself in the hospital, undergoing several procedures and surgeries due to complications, I found a need for something to really lift their spirits on just a random Wednesday, when they are feeling down," Caitlin said.

She started the project last year.
