Alligator trappers needed in Pinellas County
TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is putting a call out for more nuisance alligator trappers in Pinellas County.
Anyone interested should fill out an application online.
The FWC says applicants must pass a criminial background check, have no fish or wildlife law violations and also have a valid, working email address.
Elsewhere in the state, the application period for alligator hunters in this year's alligator harvest will be open from May 17 through the 27th.
Anyone wishing to apply for the alligator harvest can apply for a permit online, which will allow the harvest of two alligators in designated harvest areas or counties.
The permits are drawn randomly beginning May 17th at 10 a.m. through the 27th.
There will be 7,000 harvest permits available.
The FWC has a section on its website about tips for applying for alligator harvest permits, along with a guide to alligator hunting in Florida.
