Apartment fire closes Florida Avenue

TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Firefighters are battling a smoky blaze at a north Tampa apartment building.

The scene of the fire is the Parkview Apartment complex off Florida Avenue.  The response has forced crews to close Florida between 109th Avenue and Fowler Avenue.

Firefighters say the fire started on the first floor and moved to the second floor of the two-story building.

Two people were hospitalized but their conditions were not immediately available.
