Just in time for the holidays, an Arizona hotel unveils a 900 square foot gingerbread village.

It's an annual tradition at the JW Marriott desert ridge hotel in phoenix.

The resort unveils a themed gingerbread creation every year.

This year the theme is "Under the Sea" -- and pastry chefs began crafting the ocean dream in October.

They used 500 pounds of gingerbread, 3,000 pounds of sugar and 1,000 pounds of chocolate to create the village.

It includes sand made out of sugar, seaweed made out pulled sugar, an octopus made out of chocolate and a shark made out of Rice Krispies.

The gingerbread village will be on display throughout the holidays.
