Armed gas station robbery in January remains unsolved
ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - St. Petersburg detectives have exhausted all leads in an armed robbery case that occurred in January.
On January 31, police said a man, with his face covered, robbed a gas station in the 2700 block of 5th Avenue South. Two months later, they said they need the public’s help in identifying him.
The St. Petersburg Police Department released surveillance video of the scary encounter, showing the unknown man jump over the counter, pointed a gun at the store clerk, then leaving with a large amount of cash.
Police said the suspect appeared to be athletic, since it seemed easy for him to jump through the small window and over the counter.
