KEY WEST, Fla. (FOX 13) - Airborne balloons caused a power outage for 200 residents living in the Florida Keys.
On Thursday morning, workers with the Keys Energy Services responded to the outage in Key West and found pieces of scorched balloons, some still with flames. They said it is a warning to keep balloons tied down, considering that they not only can cause a power outage, but can hurt wildlife.
“Keep those balloons tied down folks...not only do they harm our marine life, they also cause power outages!” the agency wrote on its Facebook page.
