Boat fire injures two at Lighthouse Marina

Two people suffered minor injuries during a 38-foot boat caught fire a Lighthouse Marina Friday afternoon. 

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. at the Marina at 8610 Bay Pinellas Boulevard. The boat broke free from the marina after it caught fire. The cause of the fire was unknown. 

One person was taken to the hospital and another refused treatment at the scene. 

A fireboat was on scene putting the fire, which was still burning at 4:30 p.m., out.  

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and Fire/EMS were on the scene. Some traffic delays were reported as a result of the fire, but the bridge was said to be open.
