Her boyfriend, Jeffrey Morrison was named as a person of interest in her disappearance and taken into custody Thursday night in Hamilton County, Florida, which is just south of the Georgia border.
He was arrested on unrelated warrants out of Georgia.
Babb was last seen in Brooksville Tuesday around 5 p.m.
Morrison was the last person she was known to be with.
Deputies and FDLE spent hours searching the woods off Croom Road, including sending a dive team into a body of water. "Investigative leads" led law enforcement to conduct a search in southern Georgia where her body was found floating in the water.
There was no word on her cause of death.
Babb has a college-age daughter. She lost her husband in a house fire eight years ago. She has been a park ranger for seven years.
