The Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg has released a new vision and a series of changes.

When Bishop Gregory Parkes took over the diocese last year, he asked parishioners for perspective on what the church is doing right and where it could improve.

Based on their feedback, Bishop Parkes announced an increased commitment to youth programs, affordable housing, and education, with goals and deadlines.

“The vision for our diocese is ‘Courageously Living the Gospel,” said Bishop Parkes. “It includes our sacred purpose, our priorities and nine goals that help us to achieve this vision.”

Bishop Parkes said, among other goals, the church wants to establish a new Catholic school in the Tampa Bay Area.
