Downtown Tampa's skyline could be getting several new additions.

Tampa-based real estate firm, Hillsborough River Realty Company (HRRC) is planning to build three mixed use high rises called Lafayette Place.  The project is set to be located near the intersection of Kennedy Ave and S. Parker Street.

The realty group is currently seeking a rezoning permit from the city and has already gained support from Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

Lafayette Tower, with 355 linear feet of Hillsborough River frontage, is planned to be 40 stories tall. The skyscraper will be home to office, hotel and retail uses. The other two buildings, Lafayette Central & Lafayette Parkview are planned to be 26 stories tall to be used as residential units and parking spaces.

There are also plans of a skybridge that would connect the buildings, as well as the expansion of the Riverwalk on the property.
