Clinton rallys supporters in downtown Tampa
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Hillary Clinton called on supporters to head out and vote during a rally at Curtis Hixon Park this afternoon.
The Democratic nominee hosted an early voting rally along the Hillsborough River, right across the way from the University of Tampa and just a few blocks from an early voting site.
Democrats have historically done well in early voting and this was an attempt to pull even with Republicans, who typically do better among mail-in ballots. In early and mail-in voting, Democrats trail by about 5,000 votes, down from 15,000 this morning.
Donald Trump, meanwhile, has held several rallies across the Sunshine State over the last few days, including an event at the Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Tuesday.
But the Democratic Party believes it has the ground game to deliver the state for Clinton, who will arrive with news she is ahead in two of the last three Florida polls. She also has a lead nationally and knows a win in Florida would likely seal a White House win.
