Bill Cosby arrived at the courthouse in Elkins Park for arraignment Wednesday afternoon. The entertainer was charged this morning with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2004:

Looking frail, 78 year old Bill Cosby said nothing as he was escorted into court in his hometown of Elkins Park, charged with aggravated indecent assault in an incident at his nearby home.

These charges stem from an alleged sexual assault that took place on an evening in early 2004 at Mr. Cosby's home in Cheltenham Townhship.

Later on Wednesday, according to FOX 29's Chris O'Connell, Cosby's spokesman issued a statement that the entertainer is going blind.

Cosby stands charged with the assault on Andrea Constand, a former Temple University director of operations for the womens basketball team. She contends she was inappropriately touched during one encounter at Cosby's home, then drugged and sexually assaulted in another instance. Cosby has told investigators the encounters were consensual.

On Wednesday night, FOX 29 caught up with  Cosby attorney Monique Pressley, who said this:

“This case involves a woman and a man who had a consensual adult relationship over time. That’s established in everything that’s already out there in the media. And what I’m hoping, at least from this process, is that media will actually take a cold hard look at the facts and not be swept up in to kind of romanticizing the issues because of the many other baseless allegations that are out there.”

The charges are filed as the result of new information that came to light in July 2015. the statute of limitations in cases like this is 12 years.

The charges say Cosby gave the victim three blue pills and wine. she felt "rubbery" and "like jelly". she said her vision became "blurry" and "dizzy". She says cosby fondled her from behind, put his hands in her pants and sexually assaulted her.

“The evidence shows Mr. Cosby established a relationship with the victim after meeting her through her work with Temple University's womens basketball program,” assistant district attorney Kevin Steele said.

Dozens of women have come forward to accuse Cosby of drugging and molesting them, but this is the first time Cosby has faced criminal charges. He is expected to mount a vigorous defense. The DA made this public plea.

“We ask that anyone that has an information regarding any similar incidents with Mr. Cosby come forward.

Bail was set at $1 million dollars. Cosby posted 10% or$100,000 and will be released. A preliminary hearing set for .January 14..
