Deadly pedestrian crash closed NB lanes of U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS (FOX 13) - A deadly pedestrian crash closed the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs for several hours on Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. The lanes were closed at Klosterman Road, according to Tarpon Springs police. Police said three people were transported to a hospital from the vehicle that hit the pedestrian.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are still being investigated, they said, and the identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

A second crash closed caused some southbound delays at the same intersection, but all lanes reopened before 6 a.m.
