The Polk County Sheriff's Office said a school district employee has been arrested for stealing a coworker's cash.

The investigation began when the victim, who works at the school board's Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System, noticed that $1,000 in cash was missing from her purse. Deputies said the victim was carrying the cash to pay her rent after work.

The victim searched for her rent money and asked family members about it, but it couldn't be found.

Deputies said a few days later, the victim realized that another $72 had been taken from her purse. At that point, the victim decided to download a surveillance program on her laptop, with the camera facing the drawer where she kept her purse.

According to investigators, 47-year-old Fontello Joboham, a coworker of the victim, was captured on video opening the drawer and stealing more cash.

The victim reported that she felt sick and vomited after watching the video and learning who had been stealing her money.

The Sheriff's Office got involved in the case and Joboham was arrested and charged with grand theft.
