Dog stops traffic on US-95 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (KVVU) - It was a real dog day afternoon for some patrolmen in Las Vegas Monday.

Surveillance video shows a dog shutting down US Route 95. After the pup escapes, video shows it running amok on the road.

The pooch even began running in the opposite direction of traffic; where drivers had already slowed down to see what was going on.

People are seen sprinting after the animal, which finally ran down an off-ramp.

No word yet on what happened to the dog after it ran off the highway.
