Driver hospitalized after crash with Pasco County school bus
HUDSON, Fla. (FOX 13) - Three kids and a school bus driver had minor injuries after the bus was involved in a crash with another vehicle, first responders said.
The crash occurred around 7 a.m. on Kitten Train near Oakwood Lane. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the female driver of a 2007 Pontiac was traveling northbound and drifted into the southbound lanes colliding nearly head-on with a Pasco County school bus that was traveling in the southbound lanes.
The crash closed Kitten Trail at Oakwood Lane for a short amount of time. According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the female driver was extricated and taken to Bayonet Point in serious condition.
There were three children on the school bus, and all had minor injuries, fire crews said. The students were between the ages of 14 and 18, and were released to their parents. The school bus driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. Photos shared out by fire crews show serious front end damage to the vehicle involved.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
