Dump truck crash closes I-275 SB lanes in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - One person is dead after a dump truck crash that has closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 275 in St. Petersburg.

The scene of the crash is along I-275 South at 28th Street S.  That’s just after the I-175 spur exit.

The view from FDOT cameras showed a dump truck on its side, with its load strewn across the lanes. Traffic was being diverted off the highway onto the 28th Street exit.  

One northbound lane was also blocked by emergency equipment.

Troopers say one person is dead.  There was no immediate word on what caused the crash.
