Elderly man attacked and robbed in his driveway

You can tell the 73 year-old victim, who wants to remain anonymous, is still in pain.

“They started kicking me in my ribs. That's why I'm walking like this," he explained.

But despite that soreness -- he's still feisty.

"If I could've gotten in the house, got my shotgun, I know what I would've done," he says.

It was just after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday. He pulled into his house on 4th Street NE in Winter Haven, when he saw a man holding a stick near the door.

He says he was worried, so he tried backing out, but the car hit a bush and got stuck.

That's when he says two more guys -- jumped him.

"They snatched me on the ground," he described.

He tried fighting back with one arm -- but was no match for the strength of the much younger attackers.

"He said I told you we need some money," the victim added.

They got away with his money and left him in the dirt. He couldn't get up for an hour.

The three men successfully beat and robbed an elderly disabled man.

Winter Haven police have stepped up patrols in the area and are asking the public for help in finding the three guys.

"They'll do it to anybody they have no regard for life and they don’t deserve the freedom to walk free,' said Jamie Brown, spokesperson for the Winter Haven Police Department.

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their arrests.
