Emergency ramp to Tampa General Hospital reopens after death investigation
TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - The emergency ramp to Tampa General Hospital was closed for a few hours for a death investigation, but has since reopened.
A woman was brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound, but died shortly after arriving, police said. The ramp was closed during the investigation at 3:15 a.m., but reopened a few hours later.
Police said it's unclear how the woman -- who was in her mid-20s -- was shot. Investigators said the shooting doesn't appear to be random.
A spokesperson with the Tampa General Hospital said hospital operations were not impacted, and the emergency room remained open during the investigation.
