FHP: North Carolina woman killed in I-75 crash
TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened on I-75 on Friday.
The 3-car crash was on I-75 near the Fowler Avenue exit, troopers said.
According to investigators, 35-year-old Mary Beth Cobbler, of Lexington, North Carolina, was stopped for traffic in the inside lane, when she was struck from behind by a Jeep SUV, driven by 45-year-old Sean McCray.
The impact of the crash caused Cobbler's vehicle to hit the back of another vehicle in front of her.
Cobbler suffered injures from both impacts, and was taken to Florida Hospital in Tampa, where she later died, troopers said.
No other major injures were reported. FHP said charges are pending against McCray.
