Five adorable orphaned baby skunks rescued
TAMPA, Fla. - Normally, skunks aren't the first animal anyone thinks of as cute, but they probably haven't seen these five orphaned baby skunks.
A few weeks ago, the Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife was alerted to five tiny babies that needed rescuing.
The rare eastern spotted skunks had been orphaned and are nearly endangered, and they would not have survived in the wild without help.
A volunteer brought them back to the sanctuary where they were bottle fed until they could be introduced to solid food.
The kits are doing great now, rescuers say, and solids are now being added to their little bowls of formula.
It will still be a while before they are strong enough to be released back into the wild. But for now, they love the camera!
