Representative Kristin Jacobs (D-Broward County) sponsored House Bill 893, also known as the Sunshine Protection Act, Friday.
The bill calls for The Sunshine State to be "kept sunny year round, by making Daylight Saving Time permanent.
If passed Florida residents would no longer have to adjust their clocks twice a year to account for time changes. The time would stay the same all year.
Florida Senators attempted similar measures in 2014 and 2008, but the bills made little progress with lawmakers.
