Free Chick-fil-A for a year for dozens camped out

Dozens of people camped out Wednesday in front of the new Chick-fil-A store in Wesley Chapel hoping to get free Chick-Fil-A for a year at the store's grand opening on Thursday.

The new location opened up on Sun Vista Drive near the Tampa Premium Outlets at 6 a.m. Thursday to lines and lines of people wearing Chick-fil-A t-shirts.

Those who were camped and registered to be the "First 100," which is a long-standing tradition celebrating the grand opening of each new store, won a free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year.

But there were rules. As part of the contest, those in line couldn't leave the property, go to their car or switch places with anyone else. If they did, like some, they had to return in hopes of another place in the long line.
