Friends and family help support boy for life-saving surgery

There is a fundraiser to help raise money for a Land O’ Lakes boy who needs a life-saving surgery.

Eric Piburn, 8, may die without a new heart and a double lung transplant.

But he’s so sick, some doctors are hesitant to perform the surgeries.

Doctors think there is a 99 percent chance his body will reject them. Because of that, a hospital in Pittsburgh won’t put Eric on the transplant list.

His medical bills forced his parents to file for bankruptcy.

He needs a new wheelchair and soon a trip to St. Louis to visit doctors.

His family is holding a fundraiser at Burger Monger in Tampa all day Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m. and last until 8:00 p.m.

A percentage of the proceeds will help Eric.

They're also posting updates on their GoFundMe page.
