Funeral held for Sarasota teenager shot at gun range
SARASOTA (FOX 13) - The family and friends of 14-year-old Stephen Brumby gathered for a funeral for the teenager on Saturday.
Stephen died after his father, William Brumby, accidentally shot his son at the High Noon Gun Range in Sarasota on July 3.
According to a GoFundMe page, Stephen was one of seven children in the Brumby family. Two of his siblings were also at the gun range when the incident happened. They were not injured.
A celebration of life service started at 1 p.m. at Bayside Community Church.
The family released a statement asking for privacy:
"The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from the community. As they continue to
mourn, they appreciate the privacy that has been afforded to them."
