Good Samaritan pulls 2 people from deadly crash

Hillsborough County deputies say a good Samaritan rushed to save two people from a burning car that crashed near his home.

Around 1:00 Sunday morning, the driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang lost control of the car while speeding eastbound on Front Street west of Mt. Carmel Road in Valrico.

Deputies say the car crashed into a tree, throwing 26-year-old Asa Jovan Abdallah from the vehicle.  Abdallah died at the scene.

Craig Chambers, who lives nearby, heard the crash and came outside and to find two people still inside the vehicle. Chambers pulled them out and tried to keep them alive until Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived.

They both suffered internal injuries and severe burns and were transported to Tampa General Hospital.

Deputies are in the process of positively identifying the the two surviving occupants.  They are also working to determine who was actually driving the vehicle.  Alcohol appears to have contributed to this crash.

The investigation continues.
