Hillsborough County offering course on hurricane prep for homeowners
TAMPA - It has only been a few months since the Bay Area was hit by back-to-back hurricanes and Helene and Milton did a lot of damage to the trees in Florida.
Timeline:
Even though the 2025 hurricane season doesn’t start until June, now is the right time to check the health and safety of the trees in your yard, according to an extension agent with Hillsborough County, Alyssa Vinson.
Hillsborough County is offering a day-long tree and landscaping course on Wednesday, to instruct people on how to prepare their yards for the upcoming season.
Topics will include how to inspect tree roots, identifying pests that could endanger your trees and how to be proactive with pruning.
